Two Special Education Classrooms in Hatay Were Renovated with the Support of the Autism Foundation and Saint-Joseph French High School TOHUM
TOHUM conducted by the Autism Foundation in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education “Every Class is a TOHUM” Within the scope of the project, with the support of Istanbul Saint-Joseph French High School, two special education classrooms in Hatay's Defne district were renovated and made available to students. With the completion of the work at Hatay Defne Mehmet Fehmi Çankaya Primary School and Sevsen Nevzat Şahin Secondary School, the project reached its 225th special education classroom nationwide.
Within the scope of the project aimed at improving the educational environments of students diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), the renovated classrooms were equipped with special education materials and supportive educational tools suited to the students' individual learning needs. Through these arrangements, it is aimed to support the attention, communication, and social interaction skills of students with autism, while informative activities are also planned for teachers and families.
Sustainable support: Saint-Joseph French High School is increasing its contributions to the project
With the contributions made under the “Every Class is a TOHUM” project, the Istanbul Saint-Joseph French High School has so far supported the renovation of a total of 10 special education classrooms. With these two newly renovated classrooms in Hatay, the school continues its efforts toward inclusive education.
The renovated classrooms were opened for students' use with a ceremony held.

Her “Her Sınıf Bir TOHUM” project continues to grow
Since 2009, the “Every Class is a TOHUM” project has been providing special education materials tailored to the individual needs of students in special education classes, special education practice schools, and special education kindergartens within general education schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. Within the scope of the project, training is provided to teachers, student families, peers, and school management.
Within the scope of the project, in which 225 classrooms in 46 provinces have been renovated so far, continuous communication and support are provided to teachers thanks to the “teacher network” established to update their knowledge and evaluate their feedback. Following the February 6 earthquakes, educational environments were improved by supporting 38 special education classrooms in Adana, Adıyaman, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Gaziantep, and Malatya within the scope of the project.
