Although there are approximately 700,000 children with autism in the 0-18 age group in our country, only 44,000 can access qualified special education. This means that only 6 percent of children with autism are able to receive the special education they need. However, early diagnosis and the ability to benefit from individual education programs prepared for them are of vital importance in integrating them into society.
