An Inclusion Call from Tohum Autism Foundation During Neurodiversity Week!

Neurodiversity Week, celebrated globally from March 17th to 23rd, highlights the importance of creating inclusive societies and workplaces by recognizing that differences in how individuals perceive, learn, and think are both natural and valuable.

The concept of neurodiversity—which includes autism, Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), dyslexia, and other neurological differences—aims to support full participation in society by focusing on individuals’ strengths.

Burçak Karakaya, General Manager of Tohum Autism Foundation, emphasized the vital role of neurodiversity in building inclusive communities, stating:

“Neurodiversity is not a disability—it is part of our social richness. We must unlock the potential of neurodiverse individuals and support them across all areas, from business and education to social life and technology.”

Neurodiversity in the Workplace: Diversity Drives Innovation

Research shows that integrating neurodiverse individuals into the workforce boosts creativity and innovation. Inclusive work environments bring together diverse perspectives, enhancing problem-solving and strengthening institutional competitiveness.

Burçak Karakaya highlighted:

“Inclusive workplaces don’t only benefit neurodiverse individuals—they foster a more creative, productive, and harmonious atmosphere for all employees. Greater inclusivity in the workplace will also increase social awareness.”

Tohum Autism Foundation organizes awareness seminars and offers consultancy services to help create autism-friendly workplaces and support greater inclusion of neurodiverse individuals in professional life.

Take Action for an Inclusive Future!

During Neurodiversity Week, we invite businesses and society to take meaningful steps toward inclusion:

  • Organize awareness trainings in the workplace.
  • Develop inclusive hiring policies.
  • Make work environments more accessible for neurodiverse individuals.

Burçak Karakaya concluded:

“Every individual has unique talents and perspectives. Supporting neurodiversity positively impacts not only individual lives but also societal progress. Let’s build a more inclusive world together.”
