Within the scope of the “Tohum Needs Water” campaign organized by Tohum Autism Foundation on April 28, 2005, to raise funds for the education of children with autism, the income of marbling works carried out by many famous names was donated to Tohum Autism Foundation.
Many works, from paintings to bags, from trays to jewelry, from books to lamps, made by the leading names of Turkey’s culture, art, and business world, together with the Italian marbling artist Danilo Giannoni, and specially designed for our children with autism, were offered for sale at the auction held at the Italian Cultural Center.
The Gala Night, which was held under the auspices of the Italian Consul General Luciano Pezzotti and under the direction of Can Has, was presented by Rana Erkan. At the Gala Night of the project, all the expenses covered by the sponsors and realized by Banu İpeker and Özlem Güsar, all proceeds from the sale of invitations and the auction were donated to the Tohum Autism Foundation to be used in the projects it is currently running.
DANİLO GIANNONI
Born in 1971 in Italy, Danilo Giannoni studied Art and Restoration in Florence. Influenced by Ottoman Islamic Arts throughout his entire education life, Giannoni worked as a jewelery designer for many years in many countries, especially in Italy, in world-leading companies such as Bulgari, Damiani and Leo Pizzo. During this period, he won the international jewelery design award 7 times. Giannoni, who later became an art consultant in New York, decided to settle in Istanbul two years ago and started to practice the marbling art and interpreted this traditional art from an Italian perspective. Giannoni, who is also a consultant in many Islamic Arts projects in Istanbul, has his own works exhibited in these projects. Danilo Giannoni aims to build a bridge between Turkey and other countries in many international projects that he will prepare in the near future. Giannoni, who spent the first six years of his life as a disabled child, carries out projects that will support sick and disabled children with the artistic talent given to him.
