FOR THE TOHUM AUTISM FOUNDATION’S AWARENESS AND SUPPORT CAMPAIGN “I’M AWARE OF AUTISM, I’M WITH THEM” HOSTED BY BEYAZIT ÖZTÜRK, ORHAN GENCEBAY, EMEL SAYIN, HÜLYA AVŞAR, CEM YILMAZ, DEMET AKBAĞ, ACUN ILICALI, KUBAT, TUBA BÜYÜKÜSTÜN, CEMAL HÜNAL, Prof. Dr. YANKI YAZGAN GATHERED FOR CHILDREN WITH AUTISM.
With the support of Turkey’s most popular Showman Beyazıt Öztürk and Kanal D, the “TOHUM AUTISM FOUNDATION SPECIAL BEYAZ SHOW” program met with the whole of Turkey on Friday, 8 May 2009.
Tohum Autism Foundation, which has been working for the early diagnosis of children with autism, to lead the reintegration of children into society through early special education and to make this widespread throughout the country since its establishment, launched an awareness and support campaign named “I’m aware of autism, I’m with them!”.
Education is the only treatment for autism. More than 100 thousand children in Turkey are waiting in line for education. With the “I’m aware of autism, I’m with them” campaign, support will be provided for the education of children with autism.
On the evening of Friday, May 8, in the “Tohum Autism Foundation Special Beyaz Show” program on Kanal D, the most well-known and socially sensitive figures of Turkey will come together for the first time only for children with autism and will call for support for children with autism in a live broadcast. The audience had the opportunity to make their donations by contacting Demet Akbağ, Fadik Sevin Atasoy, Hülya Avşar, Mehmet Ali Birand, Tuba Büyüküstün, Fatih Erkoç, Yetkin Dikinciler, Orhan Gencebay, Cemal Hünal, Acun Ilıcalı, Kubat, Emel Sayın, Cem Yılmaz directly. Beyaz Show viewers also had the chance to win the souvenirs that the celebrities brought with them. Donations were collected via SMS, telephone and bank account numbers on this special night in which Mine Narin, President of Tohum Autism Foundation, and Prof. Dr. Yankı Yazgan will also attend.
