A Heartfelt Year-End Performance from Tohum Autism Foundation Special Education School Students’ impressive performances filled the audience with pride
Tohum Autism Foundation Special Education School celebrated the end of the academic year with its traditional Year-End Performance held on Friday, June 13, 2025.
Founded by the Tohum Autism Foundation, which has been operating since 2003 to ensure early diagnosis for children with autism and access to individualized educational programs, the school hosted this special event on its Şişli campus. The performance brought together students, families, alumni, teachers, foundation staff, and all stakeholders devoted to special education for an unforgettable experience.
The event, which included a middle school graduation ceremony for one of the students, featured performances by groups of students from both the school and the support education unit. The audience was treated to a variety of acts including dance, rhythm, piano, poetry, and songs—each one prepared with great dedication.
Expressing the pride of coming together for such a meaningful event, Tohum Autism Foundation’s General Manager Burçak Karakaya said:
“It is an immense source of pride for us to witness the progress of our students, who have undergone intensive educational processes throughout the year, and to see their success on stage. This show is not just a year-end event; it is a testament to our belief in the potential of every individual and our ongoing work with hope. Every student who takes the stage is a concrete example of this belief and dedication.”
The event was attended by Istanbul Provincial Director of National Education Murat Mücahit Yentür, Deputy Provincial Director of National Education Gülşen Özer, Şişli District Director of National Education Sevgi Yücel, Şişli District Special Education Branch Director Mehmet Yıldız, and Tohum Autism Foundation Chair Aylin Sezgin. Representatives from both the provincial and district education directorates, as well as institutional supporters of the Foundation, were also present.
The event concluded with a joyful moment as all students and educators gathered on stage together.
