Fundación MAPFRE and TOHUM Otizm Vakfı Form Meaningful Partnership
As part of its support for the TOHUM Autism Foundation’s “Every Class is One” TOHUM project, Fundación MAPFRE is renovating special education classrooms. The opening of the fully equipped classroom at Istanbul Adnan Menderes Middle School, the first step in the partnership, has taken place, while the goal is to renovate one classroom in Aydın and Hatay by the end of 2025.

The first class completed as part of the collaboration became a specially adapted classroom equipped with modern teaching materials and technological equipment at Istanbul Adnan Menderes Middle School. With the support of Fundación MAPFRE, it is planned to renovate one more classroom in Aydın and Hatay by the end of 2025.

Since 2009, the “Every Class is a TOHUM” project has been providing special education materials tailored to the individual needs of students in special education classes, special education practice schools, and special education kindergartens within general education schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education. Within the scope of the project, training is provided to teachers, student families, peers, and school management.
Through the project, which has so far updated the information of 217 classes in 43 provinces and created a “teacher network” to evaluate teachers’ feedback, teachers are provided with continuous communication and support. Following the 6 February earthquakes, 38 special education classrooms in Adana, Adıyaman, Hatay, Kahramanmaraş, Gaziantep and Malatya were supported under the project, improving the educational environments.
