As the TOHUM Autism Foundation, we run awareness campaigns to increase public awareness and sensitivity regarding autism. We share informative content through the press and social media, and we educate the public through training programs, seminars, and publications.
“For the communication campaign titled ”Now is the Time to Stand by My Side," a video was produced that highlights the sensory and social challenges individuals with autism face in daily life. The video, which depicts through striking scenes how seemingly ordinary moments can be overwhelming for a child with autism, was approved by RTÜK to be broadcast as a public service announcement. The campaign aims to encourage society to move beyond mere awareness and stand by autistic children on their educational journey.
In the film, attention was drawn to the experiences of autistic children through the sensory and social difficulties encountered in daily life, while the importance of early diagnosis and qualified education was emphasized. Highlighting the significance of intensive, continuous, and scientifically based special education in the development of communication, social adaptation, daily life, and independence skills of autistic children, society was invited to support their education.
“Within the scope of our communication campaign titled ”First Early Diagnosis, Then Give a Chance,“ a public service announcement film has been prepared, emphasizing how children with autism can be supported through early diagnosis and intensive special education. The film, which includes a call to ”give them a chance" through donations to be made for the education of children with autism, has been approved by RTÜK as a public service announcement.
Based on the fact that there are over 2 million autistic individuals living in our country, the film highlights the vital importance of early diagnosis and the transformative power of education. The billboard, poster, and digital media designs prepared within the scope of the campaign were featured in public spaces and various communication channels. As the TOHUM Autism Foundation, we aim with this campaign to create greater awareness about autism in society and to ensure that more autistic children have access to quality education.
“For the communication campaign titled ”My Success Story", a video was filmed based on the success story of a real autistic youth who learned to socialize, overcame obsessive behaviors, and adapted to social life thanks to the education he received at the TOHUM Autism Foundation Practice School. Filmed at Müze Gazhane, the video was approved by RTÜK to be broadcast as a public service announcement. To reach a wider audience, billboard, poster, and ad designs for the campaign were displayed in outdoor and digital media belonging to both the public and private sectors.
Based on the success story of a real autistic young person who learned to socialize, overcame obsessive behaviors, and adapted to social life through early diagnosis and the education they received at the TOHUM Autism Foundation Practice School, the video emphasizes that the TOHUM Autism Foundation has also been standing by them for over 20 years to raise autism awareness in society and ensure that autistic children and youth meet with quality education.
