Every Classroom a Tohum

As the TOHUM Autism Foundation, through the Every Classroom is One TOHUM Project, which we carry out in cooperation with the Ministry of National Education, we support autistic children studying in special education classes in public schools to access quality education.

Each Class is TOHUM is not just a project that provides educational materials to classrooms; it is a holistic educational model that empowers the classroom, the teacher, and the entire school ecosystem.

Who is it reaching?

The project reaches out to children with autism as well as special education teachers, families, peers, subject teachers, school management, and school staff.

How Does the Project Work?

• The Classroom is Transforming
  Special education classrooms are supported with more than 120 educational materials and technological devices tailored to the needs of students with autism.
• Teacher Empowering
  Practical training tailored to their needs is provided to special education teachers, and their professional development is supported throughout the year.
• School Ecosystem is Being Prepared
  Autism awareness training is provided for families, subject teachers, school administration, and school staff, while peer awareness training is conducted for students in general education classrooms.
• The Impact is Spreading
  Thanks to the created teacher and school network, the project's impact is aimed not to remain limited to a single classroom, but to spread sustainably within the school and across different provinces.

Every Classroom is a TOHUM Teacher Community

Special education and guidance teachers from the participating schools are coming together under the Each Class Has a TOHUM Teacher Community.

Through the community, teachers are supported in accessing regular training and up-to-date content throughout the year, and in benefiting from each other's experiences and good practices. While the continuity of professional development is ensured through regular seminars and information sharing, it is aimed that the knowledge and experience acquired by teachers contribute to the education of more students with autism.

Every Class with Numbers is a TOHUM

To date, we have reached 226 special education classes in 47 provinces. Each "One Class, One TOHUM" Teacher Community includes 158 special education and guidance teachers.

Our 2030 goal is to expand access to quality special education nationwide by bringing the Every Classroom is a TOHUM Project to all 81 provinces of Turkey.
